Coach Thurman Blake will be coaching the throwers - shot put & discus. He will also coach the WTC relay teams. Coach Blake currently coaches track & field at Timberview Middle School in Keller. Coach Blake graduated from Barbers Hill High School where he was a 4-year letterman. Coach Blake was a sprinter and a thrower. While at BHHS, he ran the 100m, 200m, & 400m and was a member of multiple relay teams.  He also threw the shot and discus at Barbers Hill High School. Coach Blake's high school track & field team won 4 CONSECUTIVE DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIPS. Coach Blake was also a REGIONAL QUALIFIER in 3 running events - 200m dash,  4x100m relay and the 4x400m relay. This is Coach Blake's first year to coach with the Watauga Track Club. He is the Head Coach for Shot Put & Discus as well as the 8U Relays.

​​​​​​​​​​​​​Coach Aminata Ka has been with the Watauga Track Club in some capacity since it was established in 2006. As one of the original members of the WTC, Aminata ran with the Watauga Track Club from 2006 to 2014. During that period of time, she won numerous awards including being named as the 2012 TAAF FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR! That same year, Aminata also was the REGIONAL MEET CHAMPION in the 16U 800m at the TAAF Regional Track Meet and finished with the BRONZE medal in both the 1600m run and 4x400 relay. In 2013, Aminata repeated as the TAAF REGION 4 GOLD MEDALIST in the 18U 800m run. Aminata was a standout performer at Richland High School where she competed in track, cross-country and soccer. She was a 4 year Varsity letterman in both cross country and track. At RHS, she ran the 400, 800, 1600 and 4x400 relay. In 2014, she led the RHS cross country team to the Regional Track Meet and was named to the ALL-DISTRICT Cross Country team that same year. Aminata was an elite athlete in high school, but she also found the time to excel academically. In 2014, she was named to the ALL-STATE ACADEMIC TEAM. Aminata is currently attending Texas Christian University where she is majoring in speech language pathology. Coach Aminata is the Head Coach for High Jump. This is her 2nd year to coach with the Watauga Track Club. 



Coach Calvin Flood was a standout track star at Central High School. He ran the 110m hurdles and 300m hurdles. He also participated in the long jump and triple jump. Coach Flood as worked at Trinity Springs Middle School for the last 3 years. His track teams at Trinity Springs have been extremely successful during his tenure. Coach Flood coaches the relay teams at TSMS including the 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400. His relay team are MEET OF CHAMPION qualifiers year after year. He also coaches the 100m, 200m and 400m sprinters who also qualify for the Meet of Champions on a regular basis. When he isn't coaching at Trinity Springs or working with Watauga Track, Coach Flood is a highly sought after personal trainer for the Stephen F. Austin University track and field program. Coach Flood will work with the sprinters and relay teams. This is his first year to work with the Watauga Track Club.​ COACH FLOOD IS AVAILABLE FOR PRIVATE LESSONS -



​Coach Hannah Schenk will be coaching the sprinters, relays and long jump. Coach Schenk graduated from Timber Creek High School and was a standout track star on the TCHS track & field team where she was a 4-year letterman. She also ran summer track for 6 years and was a member of the Watauga Track Club for 4 years. During her time with the WTC, Coach Schenk made drastic improvements every single year. She qualified for the TAAF STATE MEET all four years. In 2014, she was the REGIONAL MEET CHAMPION in the 100m, 200m and 4x400m relay. Her 4x400 relay finished as the STATE CHAMPION RUNNER-UP with a time of 4:15. In 2015, she was the REGIONAL MEET CHAMPION in the long jump. Coach Schenk did a little of everything while competing for TCHS. She ran the 100m, 200m, 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 meter relays. She was also an accomplished long jumper at TCHS with a personal best and SCHOOL RECORD of 17'10.25 feet. In 2016, Coach Schenk ran a personal best in the 100m dash with a time of 12.24 at the DISTRICT 6A CHAMPIONSHIPS. She also ran a personal best of 25.34 in the 200m dash. This year, her 4x200 relay team qualified for the REGIONAL MEET. This will be Coach Schenk's first year to coach full time with the Watauga Track Club. We are very lucky to have her on the WTC coaching staff.

Coach Savannah Martin graduated from Timber Creek High school. She ran for the Watuaga Track Club for 3 years. She also ran track and did pole vault year round from 7th grade to 12th grade. Coach Glenn actually coached Martin during her time at Trinity Springs Middle School. She set a TSMS SCHOOL RECORD of 9 feet in the pole vault. Her school record in the pole vault still stands today! She also competed in long and triple jump as a freshman at TCHS. She also ran various relays at the varsity level including the 4x100 and 4x200. Coach Martin also ran the 300 hurdles, 100 hurdles and was an accomplished pole vaulter. Her significant contributions helped the Timber Creek Girls track & field team to win 3 DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIPS in 4 years! Her senior year, Savannah vaulted 10 feet at the 6A District 5 track meet. She also played volleyball, basketball, and lacrosse in high school. Currently, she attends Texas State University majoring in Marketing. She is also a part of the Texas State Women's Lacrosse Team. This is her second year to coach with the Watauga Track Club. She is the Head Coach for the 8U runners.


Coach Sam Retzloff started pole vaulting in 7th grade where he won the Keller ISD Meet of Champions with a vault of 10 feet 6 inches. He continued this success through 8th grade where he set a NEW NATIONAL POLE VAULT RECORD at the AAU Junior Olympics with a vault of 13'3". This momentum culminated his Junior year in high school when he was the 3A STATE CHAMPION with a vault of 16 feet. After high school, Coach Retzloff was recruited to pole vault by the Indiana Hoosiers. While at Indiana, Coach Retzloff competed in multiple BIG Ten Championships and the Hoosiers Track team won the indoor BIG Ten Championship title in 2012. Coach Retzloff's personal record in the pole vault is an incredible 17'1". Coach Retzloff's is a teacher and coach at Keller Middle School where he coaches football, basketball and track. He followed in Hal Theodore's footsteps and became the pole vault coach at KMS. He has had tremendous success in his first year as the KMS pole vault coach.  Coach Retzloff is the Head Coach for Pole Vault. This is his 2nd year with the Watauga Track Club.




Coach Morrell coaches the long distance runners including the 800m, 1600m and 3200m distances. Since she took over as the WTC long distance coach, her runners have improved dramatically and all have improved their personal best times. As a freshman at Nederland High School, she led her cross country team to the DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP in District 24-4A. Coach Morrell also played a pivotal role for the Nederland track & field team. During her sophomore, junior and senior year, the NHS track & field team won 3 CONSECUTIVE DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIPS. Currently, she enjoys running for fun and has run several 5Ks and half marathons. Her father was actually the cross country & track and field coach for Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. As a result, she has a tremendous amount of knowledge and resources regarding long distance training. Currently, she is working as a pediatric endocrinology RN and she deals with a lot of growth and development issues. Coach Morrell also has two children who run with Watauga. Coach Morell is the Head Long Distance Coach. This is her 2nd year to coach with the Watauga Track Club.


Coach Deiandra Flood is coach for sprinters, relays and long jump. Coach Flood graduated from Keller Central High School and was a standout track star on the Central track & field team where she was a 4-year letterman. She also ran summer track for several years. Coach Flood did a little of everything while in high school. She ran the 100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 meter relay. She also was an accomplished long jumper at CHS with a personal best of 16 feet. At the District 5-5A Championships, Coach Flood ran a personal best in the 100m dash with a time of 13.05. The following year, she ran a personal best of 27.04 in the 200m dash. Her sophomore year, Flood ran the anchor leg for the 4x100 relay which ran a time of 50.24. In 2011, her 4x200 relay team ran an incredible 1:42.62 and were crowned as DISTRICT 7-5A CHAMPIONS. This is Coach Flood's 3rd year with the Watauga Track Club.


​​Coach Temple graduated from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee ('15).  At Rhodes, she competed in the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays, as well as the open 100, 200, 400, and long jump. As part of the Rhodes Track & Field team, she helped the team win four consecutive conference championshipsDuring her career, she broke three school records and qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championships three different times.  Coach Temple is a 2X ALL-AMERICAN in the 4x100m relays ('12 and '15).  During her first year out of college, Coach Temple worked as a financial analyst in Memphis.  She returned to Texas to complete a doctorate program in Economics at Texas A&M. Coach Temple is the Head Coach for Long Jump. This is her 3rd year with the Watauga Track Club!


Coach Alexis Gomez has been with the Watauga Track Club in some capacity since 2010. She ran with the Watauga Track Club for three years and was an accomplished pole vaulter for the varsity track & field team at Timber Creek High School. Coach Gomez also ran sprints and hurdles at TCHS. Head Coach of the Watauga Track Club, Michael Glenn, actually coached Alexis during her time at Trinity Springs Middle School. Alexis was one of the hardest workers that Coach Glenn ever had the pleasure to coach. She was extremely dedicated to getting better in pole vault. During her senior year at Timber Creek, Alexis was DISTRICT CHAMPION RUNNER-UP in pole vault. That same year, she competed at the 6A AREA Track Meet where she vaulted 11 feet. Her personal best effort is 11'6" in pole vault. Coach Alexis recently finished her freshman season competing for the  University of North Texas Mean Green Track & Field team! Alexis also runs sprints for the UNT track & field program. This is her 2nd year to coach full time with the Watauga Track Club. Coach Alexis will coach the 8 & Under sprinters as well as the pole vault and hurdles.

​​Coach Cavitt- Sprinters | HURDLES | RELAYS

Coach Frederick Cavitt is the Associate Head Coach for the Watauga Track Club. He attended McKinney High School, where he competed on the varsity track team running 110 high hurdles and 330 intermediate hurdles. He spent 20 years in the US Navy and attended Richland College and College of Baltimore in Maryland. Coach Cavitt began coaching track, basketball and football in 1986 as Athletic Director of Collin County Boys and Girls Club. He continued to coach track and field for several years while several of his athletes went on to become STATE CHAMPIONS in multiple age groups. He was sprint coach for the Plano Cheetahs and Top Achievers in Plano TX. Also served as Physical Fitness coordinator at the United States Navy Reserve Center in San Francisco, CA and later served as Athletic Director for the Saint Mark Catholic School (8-12) in Plano, Texas. Coached and mentored numerous athletes who have gone on to compete at the college level in all divisions. He is an accredited University Interscholastic League (UIL) Coach. Cavitt's son ran and coached for the Watauga Track Club and is currently an ALL-AMERICAN track star at the University of Houston. This is Coach Cavitt's 6th year with the Watauga Track Club. He coaches the sprinters, hurdlers and relays.

Coach glenn- Mid distance runners | RELAYS | PoLE VAULT

Coach Michael Glenn has been the Head Coach of the Watauga Track Club (WTC) since it was established in 2006. During his tenure, over 450 athletes have qualified for the State Games of Texas. During that twelve year span, WTC has produced numerous STATE CHAMPIONS and several NATIONAL CHAMPIONS. Coach Glenn has coached track and field at the middle and high school level for the last 15 years. Many of Coach Glenn's pole vaulters and middle distance runners have medaled at the Texas State Championship and National Junior Olympics competitions. Many of his vaulters and runners have accepted college scholarships and are currently competing at the college level for all divisions. During his coaching career, Coach Glenn has been the Head Coach for 10 DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP track & field teams in both Birdville ISD and Keller ISD. In 2017, his Trinity Springs track & field team recently won another "MEET OF CHAMPIONS" DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP. The "Meet Of Champions" title is given to the top team out of 16 schools in 3 school districts - Keller ISD, Northwest ISD & Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD. It's the 9TH DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP in the last 11 years for the Trinity Springs track & field team. In 2016, Coach Glenn was named HOMETOWN HERO by the Northeast Tarrant County Chamber of Commerce for his work with the Watauga Track Club!
